Green House Cleaning Products So Safe a Four Year Old Can Use Them

I have taught my daughter to clean up after herself from a very young age.  We have always made a game out of cleaning the house.  She is a really competitive kid and she loves to win, so I have her race me or her dad to pick up a room.  We always let her win to keep it fun.  She can usually pick up whatever activity she is finishing in less than 4 minutes this way.

She also loves to clean up her messes.  I let her use the Better Life household cleaning products to do so.  They are so safe that I feel comfortable letting her use them if I am supervising her.  It makes cleaning a fun and rewarding activity for her, and I feel like she is learning responsibility and self pride.

What do you think, are you ready to let your kids clean up the house with your cleaning products?  If not, maybe you should look at the products at to find out more.

Periodically Pull Back Furniture When Cleaning Your Home

I recently did a video blog entry on the benefits of changing your furnace filter regularly.  I also highlighted the benefits of stepping up to a pleated paper filter that will trap smaller particles of dust, and improve the indoor air quality of your home and keep the air cleaner in your house.

Take a look at this cold air return that was behind a television hutch in one of my clients homes.  A team member snapped this picture.   It was nearly completely clogged with dust and other debris.  You can only imagine what your filter is catching.

Check out what the rag looked like after wiping it out.  This is a prime example of why you need to keep your cold air returns unobstructed.

Jeff Wilcox Foundation Event Raises Funds to Help Local St. Louis Families

This weekend the Jeff Wilcox foundation ( hosted a charity event in support of Bear Essential, a St. Louis organization providing support to children affected by parental cancer. ( ).   The event was a Trivia Night or Texas Hold Em Tournament.  You got to choose your event.  Their was a live auction as well as a silent auction.  In total the event raised nearly $12,000.  It was relayed to us by several attendees that the House Cleaning we provided for the silent auction was one of the hot items.  Please visit the links to these great organizations to find out how you can get involved and make a difference in the local community.

Go Green Clean is very involved in charitable giving and is itself a charter member of Cleaning for a Reason ( an organization that pairs women undergoing cancer treatment with local cleaning service providers that are willing to donate free cleaning services.  This program is one the reasons that I started Go Green Clean.  My cousin was battling cancer and I wanted to find a way that I could fight the disease with her.  I was only one person who was cleaning houses for a little extra income at the time.  I contribute Cleaning for a Reason for helping me set a vision for my company to grow so significantly, in part so I could help more women battling this terrible disease.

I am glad we got to be a part of this great event this weekend.  I want to thank Jen Halski of Halski Studios for inviting us to participate.  We are always glad to help local organizations especially when they are aligned with battling cancer, and improving the quality of lives of those affected by the disease.  I ask that you look at small things you can do to help those you know touched by cancer.  There are very few of us left that don't have a story to tell of loss and tragedy in our life due to this disease.   Take a minute to count your blessings each day.

St. Louis Missed Snowmagedon

It was a fine line this week between the haves and the have naughts.  And the have naughts were the big winners this time.  The haves got nearly 20 inches of snow and will be digging out for the foreseeable future.  Normally I would be proud to say we were out there getting things done while the rest of St. Louis ground to a halt, but I have to say we also shut down for two days as well.

We erred on on the side of caution this week with the initial ice then snow we were concerned about our team members safety on walkways and entering our clients homes, more so than the overall driving conditions.  I am glad to say we were able to accommodate all but 4 clients this week, and had room to make sure they were taken care of early next week.  It is a big party weekend, so we offered any clients that needed it Saturday service.

I hope everyone enjoyed there snow days and we can all be safe as we take to the roads on Thursday.  I have to say though that the biggest winners of this thing was probably the news channels.  This storm probably got better ratings than the Super Bowl this weekend with much better advertising rates.  I wish I had a TV spot up this week.
